Discovering the Four Noble Truths: A Community Day of Mindfulness
On Saturday, July 26th, 2025, the community is invited to gather for a special day of reflection, connection, and learning under the guidance of Guru Khen Rinpoche Shir Lama. The event, themed “Discover the Four Noble Truths,” is designed to welcome people of all ages into a shared journey of mindfulness, understanding, and joy.
The day begins at 10:00 AM, with volunteers warmly welcomed, followed by a community breakfast and meet-and-greet at 10:30 AM. This opening session sets the tone for a day focused on togetherness and friendship.

Children up to 16 years old will have a dedicated teaching session from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, where the timeless wisdom of the Four Noble Truths will be introduced in a fun and accessible way. At noon, participants will come together for a wholesome meal featuring delicious, home-cooked Nepali food, served until 1:00 PM.
The afternoon continues with a youth and young adult session (ages 17–30) at 1:00 PM, offering a deeper dive into the meaning of the Four Noble Truths. This is followed by a peaceful outdoor meditation for all ages from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, allowing participants to connect with nature while cultivating inner stillness.
Throughout the day, guests can also join in social games and a book swap, bringing along books to exchange and discovering new reads while building connections with fellow attendees.
The gathering concludes at 4:00 PM, but the spirit of the event is one of openness and continuity: an invitation to bring an open heart and mind, and to grow, learn, and laugh together.
This celebration of community, mindfulness, and shared wisdom is open to everyone, making it a unique opportunity to connect with both ancient teachings and new friends.
